Introduction
Reflecting on John Fogarty's famous song about being stuck in Lodi you may not be interested in tasting here. Big mistake. These wineries have their acts together and serve you fine wine and hospitality. One tasting room is in a huge redwood wine vat! Another has a huge old pipe organ and the tasting room was designed for it. There is a winery with a pet tortoise and a nest of small wineries in a remodeled former large winery. One tasting room is in the old boiler!
Traveler services are in Lodi. They are a bit weak in hotels but the renovated downtown is very nice with plenty of dining options.

- Farm with animals to pet. Interesting for adults, great for kids.
- Cafe with the tasting room inside.
- Jessie's Grove
- Setting - a romantic ranch setting with one of California's four winery tortoises.
- Museum - wander back to the old oak savanna of pre-pioneer days and see the museum.
- Harmony
- Architecture and interior ambiance - the tasting room was designed and built to accommodate a huge pipe organ from a theater in San Francisco. The whole tasting room has a music theme.
- Landscaping - picnic in the beautiful gardens.

- Architecture and interior - monumental interior and beautiful inside and out.
- Landscaping - beautifully done gardens.
- Gift shop - probably the largest in the region.
- Lucas
- Ambiance - check the fancy barrel room. Also the interesting soil samples from around the world.
- Parking on the lawn is a bit weird.
- Vino Piazza
- 8 tasting rooms in a huge old winery complex on Locke Road on the east side of the region. Each tasting room is unique, one is in a boiler, and fun to wander around and explore.
Off-The-Beaten-Track Lodi Wineries
This wine region is a bit odd in that the tasting rooms are scattered all over the region with no central core or highway. The wineries at Vino Piazza are less visited. They seem to be forgotten out there and this is a great place to taste and explore. See our Lodi map for the location near Lockford.
Romantic Lodi Wineries
A special ambiance for long quiet conversations and enjoying love. Usually we have a secluded outdoor scene in mind.
- Jessies Grove - buy a bottle of wine and picnic under the ancient oaks.
- Vino Con Brio - pleasant courtyard.

Your tastes change frequently. Do wine ratings, gold medals, etc. really matter?
