Introduction
The Livermore wineries are hugely popular locally but often forgotten by more distant travelers. The region is reasonably attractive with nice views. The wineries are as diverse as anywhere with tiny family wineries in barns to large monumental structures. The wines tend from light to medium body and very good.
Traveler services are convenient in Livermore. We especially recommend dining on the main street in town. 1st Street has been renovated and has sidewalk seating at many restaurants and cafes. There are two good wine bars available if you didn't have enough out on the wine trail. There are also a few small tasting rooms downtown.

- Architecture - a new winery with great architecture.
- Garre
- Restaurant - Get there mid-day for lunch. Very nice on the back patio and the food is interesting and tasty.
- Bent Creek
- Ambiance - intimate tasting room in a remote and beautiful setting. The tasting bar can get very crowded but the staff finds ways to serve.
- Picnic site - A couple of sites with nice views of the canyon.
- Fenestra
- Ambiance - an old barn winery and tasting room in a beautiful creekside setting.
- Tenuta
- Tour - Richard does an outstanding impromptu tour.
Off-The-Beaten-Track Livermore Wineries
- Charles R - Head down a dirt ranch road and up a small canyon to a remote winery. Charles looks a bit like old Abe Lincoln. Meet him.
- El Sol - Small working winery and very friendly.
Romantic Livermore Wineries
A special ambiance for long quiet conversations and enjoying love. Usually we have a secluded outdoor scene in mind.
- McGrail - very good view from the tables on the left side and out of the traffic flow.
- Bent Creek - tables in the back with view of the creek area, hills, vineyard. Not secluded though.
- Tenuta - tables in front with nice view but in the main walkway to the tasting room.
Notes
Your tastes change frequently. Do wine ratings, gold medals, etc. really matter?
We have hundreds of winery interview videos in winery profiles. We shoot these at winery events because that is the cheapest way to gather content.
