Introduction

Alexander Valley is a place of quiet ambiance and surprisingly little traffic. It is off-the-beaten path although Highway 101 runs through it. Tasting rooms are friendly and rarely crowded. Tasting there is always a quality experience and the region is widely known for their rich Cabernet Sauvignons. Geyserville and Cloverdale are the only towns in the region. Geyserville has recently seen a surge of new tasting rooms and along with several very good restaurants, the Hope-Merrill B&B, and Geyserville Inn it is a wonderful destination. Cloverdale is a very quiet agriculture town with more lodging available. However, if you are looking for nightlife then head to Santa Rosa or Healdsburg.

  • Tasting room staff - especially friendly.
• Hanna
  • View - great views from the tasting room and deck of the valley and mountains.
  • Experience - friendly and engaging tasting room staff is a cut above most.
• White Oak
  • Architecture and interior - Tuscan charm.
  • Landscaping - The grounds are beautifully done and include "interesting" landscape art. Great fountain in the entry area.
  • Picnic sites - Several places to picnic with perfect wine country ambiance and views of the mountains and vineyards.
  • Tasting room staff - delightful.
• Meeker
  • Architecture and interior - cozy tasting room in an old bank. Nestled in downtown Geyserville.
  • Experience - always a good time, and sometimes a bit wild. We recommend this tasting room as the last stop of the day and then dinner in Geyserville.

Off-The-Beaten-Track Alexander Valley Wineries

There are no wineries far off a main road but this region is very quiet and feels remote. Somehow Highway 101 doesn't seem to impact it much.

Romantic Alexander Valley Wineries

A special ambiance for long quiet conversations and enjoying love. Usually we have a secluded outdoor scene in mind.

• Hanna - elevated deck in front of the tasting room with amazing view.
• Francis Ford Coppola - inside and outside ambiance.
• Geyser Peak - patio with water features and view.
