California's Alexander Valley is the heart of some of California's finest Cabernet vineyards. The town of Cloverdale anchors the north end of the Alexander Valley, tiny Geyserville services the middle, and the nearby romantic wine town of Healdsburg is to the south. The Jimtown store in the southern end of the Alexander Valley is a popular deli.
Alexander Valley in Sonoma County is one of the most rural and laid back California wine regions. It is very quiet other than Highway 101 on the west side. Traffic is generally light on the roads and the region is popular with cyclists. Dozens of wonderful wineries are available to explore and our winery map will help you find them.
Exploring this region is easy. The wineries are easy to find and the road system is a breeze to figure out. Almost all the wineries are small to mid-size, uncrowded, and intimate. Although Highway 101 and State Route 128 run through the Alexander Valley it feels more remote on the roads than Dry Creek Valley to the west. Maybe it is the calming effect of the Russian River running through the middle of the valley.
We have added some restaurant and lodging markers to the map as a convenience. Please look to your favorite Websites for their information.
